Infosession: The importance of a decent data strategy
Thursday 5 December, 12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m., Classroom 3.1 (3B3)

Use and reuse of medical data in both academic and clinical contexts is crucial. When this is given low priority, less can be learned from the data and stands in the way of improved patient care. A recent example demonstrates this.
Colleague Jens Declerck is making his PhD on medical data reuse, with a particular focus on quality assessment and usability in specific contexts. Jens shares tips and insights that every researcher can work with.
In fact, reuse of medical data involves a number of important requirements:
  • Adequate data quality to ensure reliable results
  • Structured data collection methods to ensure consistency
  • Proper storage and management of data to ensure integrity and accessibility
  • Compliance with GDPR regulations to protect data privacy and security
  • The right software infrastructure for efficient data usage and integration
REVA Research Day
Second attempt if you missed the first save the date: on Thursday 19 December in the morning, our CWO is organising the REVA Research Day. Well, half-day. But time enough to get to know two research units (paediatrics and speech therapy) and have a poster session.
More concrete planning and location will undoubtedly follow (don't look at me, I'm just the messenger).

Mark it in your agenda.
